Congratulations to North Metropolitan Tafe’s highest achieving graduating student of 2016, Josie Harrington!

NORTH METROPOLITAN TAFE’S STUDENT AWARDS

On Wednesday last week, I had the honour of presenting North Metro Tafe’s top achieving student for 2016 with the ALIA Student Award.

ALIA provides the student awards to the highest achieving graduating student from all ALIA accredited Library and Information Science courses as a means of recognising excellence. Our accredited institutions each present one student award per course and graduating year.

Josie Harrington completed the ALIA accredited Diploma of Library and Information Services at the end of last year and has since begun working at St Brigid’s College, Lesmurdie as their Library Technician.

As part of the celebrations, North Metro TAFE also recognised its top achieving students in each stage of their study, Stage 1: Dorothy Millar, Stage 2: Rebecca KaczmarekStage 3:  Elizabeth Sproule Stage 4: Ngaire Clements

At the end of the session, the graduating students surprised the teaching staff with a presentation of their own, having created a hamper full of thankyou gifts, including promotional items from one student’s placement time at the SHQ Library

It was so lovely to be part of the celebration! Thanks for inviting me along North Metro Tafe - Jess.
